This was all on NetBSD current.

I've just done a complete re-installation and re-setup the raid 1
with 1.6.1 STABLE.  However, checking out src/ from CVS corrupts
the filesystem again, so this isn't an issue with Current in
particular.  This is without softdeps.

Normally I would suspect a hardware fault.  Only I've been using
this hardware for over 2 years under both Linux and NetBSD with
heavy compilation load without a single issue.  The issues only
started this week when I've tried RAID 1, so I tend to suspect
that.

Sadly I'm going to give up and just return to a standard non-RAID
setup.  If anyone is curious, here's my dmesg output:
