You might want to hang around until 802.11g cards become more numerous.
There is support for some of them in FreeBSD and a port seems only a matter
of time. It seems a little pointless to limit yourself to 11b.

Slightly off topic, but I'm dying to hear why you are switching back: I've
never actually *owned* a Mac (couldn't afford it) but almost everyone 
seems to be raving about OS X; what didn't you like?
