While browsing through my NetBSD 1.6.1 system today I noticed a
somewhat eratic set of permissions on Samba's various .tdb files in
/var/db/samba :
/var/db# ls -l samba
total 62
-rw-r----- 1 root wheel 6 May 20 13:49 .pkgsrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 696 Jul 15 11:50 brlock.tdb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 239 Jul 15 12:17 browse.dat
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 8192 Jul 11 21:10 connections.tdb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 696 Jul 15 11:50 locking.tdb
-rw------- 1 root wheel 696 Jul 11 21:10 messages.tdb
-rw------- 1 root wheel 8192 Jul 15 11:50 ntdrivers.tdb
-rw------- 1 root wheel 696 Jul 15 11:50 ntforms.tdb
-rw------- 1 root wheel 8192 Jul 15 11:50 ntprinters.tdb
-rw------- 1 root wheel 8192 Jul 15 11:50 printing.tdb
-rw------- 1 root wheel 8192 Jul 15 11:50 share_info.tdb
-rw-r----- 1 root wheel 16384 Jul 14 12:33 unexpected.tdb
Does anyone think this is any kind of problem ? I don't think there's
anything particularly sensitive in any of these tdb's, but, given that
this is the NetBSD Samba 2.2.8a/i386 binary package out-of-the-box, it
looks odd.
