i have more information now,

i think this is somehow related to the error i could see on one of the
machines.

> tokyo /netbsd: Non-unique normal route, mask not entered
i'm not able to resolve names of hosts that get the network
configuration from dhcp server. stanice1 is such a computer:

# ping stanice1
ping: Cannot resolve "stanice1" (Host name lookup failure)

however, if i log onto stanice 1 using its ip and then try to ping
conputer on the internal network that has statical ip address, it works
as usual. tokio is server that has static ip address

# ping tokio
PING tokio.chemiuceb.muni.cz (192.168.1.2): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.2: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=0.186 ms

if i try to ping itself (i.e. ping stanice1 from stanice1), the result
is the same as in the first case.

i cannot try now, but i don't remember seeing the error listed on top on
the dhcp-using machine...

what's wrong there? it seems like gate/nameserver (windoze) forgets
about its clients...

any help is appreciated.

regards,
lubos
