Hello,

can you tell me a place where to define environment variables for
all users, independent from their login shell type?

I think I've seen UNIXoid systems using a file /etc/environment with a
simple syntax (lines like ``VAR=VALUE''). Is that a PAM feature? I've
installed a PAM package, but login seems still bypassing PAM (the
package doesn't contain executables, just *.so files). Am I missing a
pam.conf entry?

Regards
  Thomas
