Bear in mind that to use pkg_src_ you need the compilers and other toys.
The firewall project may not have all of that hoopy stuff included.
But the NetBSD package system has a "binary side" that is precompiled.

If I can, I always prefer to build from pkgsrc, but for most purposes
you can probably just install via pkg_add of a pre-built package.


(As you may be beginning to appreciate, you've got lots of choices.
*grin*  Standard editors and the command line; X and GUIs and packages,
command line and non-GUI packages...  Don't worry if you can't absorb
it all at once; pick parts that look most fun and dive into them.
People will be around to give random opinions and help if you have
questions.)
