Hi,

A little of topic, but i'll try. :-)
In rfc 1323 tcp options were discussed like
window scaling and tcp timestamps. However, Van Jacobson
header compression rfc 1144, was developed ealier and i wonder
if it would be possible to use this compression method in combination
with tcp window scaling and tcp timestamps because in the time
VJ compression was found, these options werent there yet.
Anybody has some experience with this?
I noticed that NetBSD 1.6 activates these options by default
but i wonder if between two NetBSD machines who were connected
by two cisco routers who were talking by isdn to eachother and
VJ compression enabled what would happen. Would the routers see those
options and refrain from using VJ compression in that cases?
Because from what i would suspect now i would conclude problems
when you use VJ compression and rfc1323 options ....??
Btw, any recommendations concerning the tcp window size
used between the bsd machines when you know two routers stand between
them with a 64 kbit isdn line?
Bye,

Mipam.
