In my experience, as long as you have a decent net
connection and normal hardware, the floppy-ftp install of
official releases is *very* convenient.  ftp.netbsd.org has
a really fat pipe, relative to its load (I got 1 MB/s at the
office); hopefully your local mirrors also rock.

Step one:  download two floppy images.
Step two:  burn the floppies.
Step three:  stick first floppy in target machine; reboot.
Step four:  follow the on-screen directions.  The defaults
            are fine.
