After I rebuilt a NetBSD kernel (1.6 i386) and copied it to /netbsd,
upon booting it complains:

booting hd0a:netbsd
open netbsd: Input/output error
boot: hd0a:netbsd: Input/output error

Have I removed too many devices from the kernel, or what ?
The permissions are the same as the original kernel. There
are no bad sectors on the disk.

dev gives:
hd0a:

ls gives for netbsd:
158051: netbsd (REG)

I HAVE NOW MADE IT BOOT OK THUSLY......

I copied the netbsd kernel over an unneeded file in / with
a lower inode number, then renamed that file to netbsd. ls
for netbsd now gives:

2704: netbsd (REG)

The system now boots. Is this a bug, or the fact that
netbsd was too far from the start of the disk, or what ???

Thanks.
