I had some discussion off-list with another NetBSD user who said that
plaympeg and SDL failed to initialize the audio device. But, MPLayer which
also uses SDL has no problems with sound.

This was with smpeg-0.4.4 and SDL-1.2.5 built from pkgsrc-01/25/03
tarball.

My 1.6 box with plaympeg installed a few months ago (smpeg-0.4.3) also has
no sound:

 Warning: Couldn't init SDL audio:
 Will ignore audio stream

I haven't looked at this closely.

Does anyone have sound with plaympeg?
