FWIW mine (an hp 940c) will print several (text) files, but once used
does nasty things to the PCI bus - causing my ethernet card (an PCnet-PCI)
to report what I presume are timeouts on the PCI bus.

The network card is idle - I'd guess it is only doing its periodic
check on the TX ring.
