in case you would use netbsd only you could disable your internal modem (in
bios), but i think it isn't your case. i'd recommend booting the tiny kernel
and building your own kernel with the modem device disabled (you can start
from the generic kernel). adjustkernel from pkgsrc/sysutils can help you but
you can do it without it as well.
