Greetings.

I'm running the Netscape communicator and navigator binaries for Solaris,
as installed from /usr/pkgsrc/www/$thingy .

Machine being used is a 170 Mhz SPARC-5 with 256 MB of RAM, running
NetBSD "1.5.4_Alpha". It does have a custom kernel.

Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8) libraries are installed in /emul, as per
COMPAT_SVR4(8).

Both communicatior and navigator work well, EXCEPT that when attempting to
access a host with multiple A records, the fail with:

"Netscape is unable to locate the server <whatever>

Please check the server name and try again."

This can be easily demonstrated by clicking on the "Netscape" button in
the Location Toolbar.

brahma: $ host home.netscape.com
home.netscape.com is a nickname for netscape.com
netscape.com has address 64.12.180.19
netscape.com has address 64.12.180.22
netscape.com has address 64.12.151.211
netscape.com has address 64.12.151.215
netscape.com mail is handled (pri=20) by xwing.

All other name resolution with the browsers works fine. Other apps on
the machine have no trouble properly resolving the hostnames. (E.g. host,
dig, lynx, mozilla, etc.)

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it because i'm running with Solaris 8
libs, as opposed to something a little older, such as those from 2.6 or
2.5.1?
