Howdy,

Am trying to migrate an entire NetBSD server from old,
slow i386 box to faster i386 box via cpio. But user info
does not resore.

1. Installed NetBSD on new i386 box.
2. Did cpio backup of /etc, /home, /usr, /var on old i386 box.
3. Did FTP of *.cpio from old box to new box.
4. Did full cpio restore of /home, /usr, /var on new box.
5. Did cpio restore of /etc to /etc.old on new box.
6. Did cp from /etc.old to /etc on new box of passwd and master.passwd
7. Rebooted new box. Starts up, no crash. But get errors about
  "chown invalid user" for mysqld.
9. I looked and found this...

# ls -l /home
dr -xr-xr-x 5 root users 512 Oct 10 08:05 ftp
dr -xr-xr-x 5 1000 users 512 Oct 10 08:05 gus
dr -xr-xr-x 5 1003 users 512 Oct 10 08:05 mysql
dr -xr-xr-x 5 1004 users 512 Oct 10 08:05 samba
dr -xr-xr-x 5 1001 users 512 Oct 10 08:05 vpnuser

10. My /etc/passwd and /etc/master.passwd are same as on old
box. Is there something else I need to copy in for the users
to be same on new box?

Thanks,
