I thought it wise to warn any one who might be tempted to use the
Disk Setup that comes with Jaguar.

I used it to format the 60G ATA disk that came with my G4 because I
wanted a different partition structure.
After format (as HFS+ partitions), I could no longer mount the disk
from OS-9.2.1 booted from its own CD.
Further investigation showed that I could not mount it from any
previous system or Norton or driver installer.
I haven't tried using NetBSD, but if you do and have trouble, this
may be the problem.

At a guess, Apple has tinkered with the disk label to prevent any one
from booting new computers with an older system.
