The box in question is an IBM ThinkPad 755c running 1.6 and a
GENERIC-LAPTOP kernel, which works very nicely with a D-Link DWL-650
802.11b card. Unfortunately, I had to surrender the D-Link to an older
1.5.2 box and purchased a Linksys WPC11 rev 3 as the closest available
alternative, the D-Links apparently now replaced by DWL-650+ (does that
work?).

Depending on the wind direction, the Linksys sometimes probes, sometimes
initializes, sometimes hangs the boot entirely, but it never 'works'.
When it does initialize, ifconfig reports the link 'up' and everything
looks great until trying to use it, at which time a cascade of errors
(kernel and userland) are reported:

wi0: command timed out, cmd=0x121
wi0: wi_cmd: BUSY did not clear, cmd=0xa
wi0: failed to allocate 1594 bytes on NIC
wi0: tx buffer allocation failed
wi0: interface not running

Any ideas on how to get this card to behave? man wi seems to imply this
is supported.

Thanks.
