I am a little confused over these emails. So I have a few questions:

You used one kernel module and it partially worked but didn't cause a
kernel panic?

You tried a different kernel module but it caused a kernel panic?

You tried that newer kernel module on different hardware at it worked
fine?

(And those two different computers have same audio hardware?)

Is there source code available for that kernel module that causes the
kernel panic?

If so, then what is the difference between the two kernel modules?
