I have worked with MS-DOS (4, 5 and 6.22), DR-DOS 7.03, OS/2 1.3 through Warp 4,
Linux (Slackware, also Debian), and NetBSD. Worst fdisk was in MS-DOS; fdisk in
OS/2 was a big improvement, but fdisk or cfdisk in Linux is much better still,
better than the fdisk in NetBSD 1.5.2 (sorry to say). fdisk or cfdisk in Linux
can tag a partition as type A9 (hex) for NetBSD even though Linux will not
recognize this type. I used these fdisks all from text mode, never from GUI.
Newer versions of Linux fdisk have no problem with hard disks > 8 GB.
