Are people seeing this with native curses or ncurses (what version)?  Are
people finding this in the pkgsrc Lynx or with a self-compiled Lynx?  Is the
problem only seen with "color-style" code?  I've been compiling Lynx myself
using the SLang library rather than curses, and I haven't experienced these
problems.  (It is possible to mess up the terminal by viewing documents in
a multibyte character set other than Lynx's display character set, but this
doesn't seem relevant in this thread.)

FWIW, on the lynx-dev list there is a recent thread about "Terminal problem."

Seems to have something to do with the status line, and is not exactly what
you describe.
