it would be better if the server handled quoted-printable, because if i t=
urn=20
it off different badness happens elsewhere. (I'll grant that KMail does u=
gly=20
q-p encoding; maybe i can improve that)

Turns out I had; at least it's one of the things i restored at random las=
t=20
night in the version that worked. If something in GENERIC says INSECURE i=
s=20
needed by X, please point it out to me, I don't see it.
