I just installed cups (1.1.14-nb1) from pkgsrc on this fairly up-to-date
release branch (1.5.3_ALPHA) i386 system.

After putting what I thought were the requisite lines in /etc/rc.local, I
rebooted to find no cupsd running, but did see that message, above, in my
Subject: line. There's an identical one for $slpd also.

A few minutes in Google and the list archives suggest to me that this is a
problem with rc.d apparatus, no? I would really appreciate any clues as to
how to get past this particular set of obstacles!
