Im trying to run X on a very old system. I can get it running if I use 
AllowMouseOpenFail, but I'd much rather be able to use a mouse.

I have a serial mouse plugged into com1 of the box, which is running the 
generic-tiny kernel. I don't suppose you'd know what the device is (eg 
/dev/mouse ? ) and if that is all that is going wrong.
