I installed it on a 1.5.3_ALPHA with XFree86 4.2.0 and it worked fine.
I downloaded the binary package and did 'pkg_add blah' and then ran
soffice under my regular user.

I did install XF86 4.2.0 overtop and existing 3.3.6 system with KDE, if
that makes any difference.
