Dear all,

I have some questions to ask.

1) I build my kernel from sources on cvs. I don't have enough disk space to 
build the tool-chain. Is it wise to update the system by downloading 
snapshots sets and just unpacking them over a running system?

2) What exactly does the XSERVER kernel option do? Should I turn it on if I 
want to use XFree86 4.2.0 (from XF86-4.2.0-1.5.3_ALPHA)?
