Yep, i'm looking at Seagate's site while this mail is sent...

In fact, i'm hoping to find some utility to mark this block as bad
 without having to format the whole disk... When i was young, long
 long time ago, i remember a DOS utility that allow such thing, but
 it was for the FAT FS. As NetBSD doesn't seem to allow such a tweak,
 perhaps some low-level manufacturer tool will do the trick.
