Well, the struggle continues. all that stands between me and victory is a
good build of kdeutils, but since that doesn't come packaged and compiles
from source get hung on the miscue between static and shared libs, I'm
stuck. I am now dropping back to qt 2.3.0 -- hacked the Makefile to use that
version -- and we'll see if that gets me any closer. But at the same time,
I'm installing gnome. twm just doesn't cut it for me.

I'm also very annoyed that pkgs get uninstalled. gdk-pixbuf and mozilla both
got uninstalled this afternoon: is that some bizarre side-effect of
dependency resolution?

I need to read up on this too, but if anyone knows how to manually alter the
pkgdb to make stuff "just work" I'd like to know.
