Maybe common problem. This has happened to me. Granted, I have some truly 
strange voodoo on my network which requires lots of custom settings 
(chaching name servers, dhcp ADSL access, firewalls, dhcpd, and all sorts of 
other crap the family can't live without).

So, reboot and config from the console is my answer. You DO check your 
settings manually, right? At least the rest of the installation sticks 
(compared to Mandrake linux, but that's another tale for another mailing 
list).
