Hi,
I am using i386/NetBSD 1.5.2 with X to manage a bunch of systems. I use an
xterm and ssh to logon to an Alpha/VMS. The backspace key sends, well, a
backspace. That behaviour seems quite reasonable; but my hands are trained
to hit that key and expect the system to delete. DCL (the shell on VMS)
responds by going to the beginning of the line (which is not what I want).
The list of options available with Control-LeftClick includes "Backarrow
Key" but I do not know how to use it. The option is checked by default. I
have not found another option that is relevant.
I would prefer an escape sequence or an ssh option so I can use a single
menu entry to connect to other systems. I could then check the host name
against a list and adjust the xterm or ssh accordingly (I use a script).
I could also have two types of xterm menu entries: one for VMS and one for
the others. This is not ideal.
Thanks.
