Um, because I don't get to rewrite the network that Rice has set up in the
Herman-Brown building where the math department (hence my office) is. If
they were using DHCP everywhere, I'd just sit down and try to sort it out
for my home network, too. (^&
In real life, I'm a math grad student, not a sysadmin; I only get to play
demigod with my own computers.
