Hi,
I'm running current and i've always mounted /tmp on a mfs filesystem:
My /etc/fstab contains:
/-----------------
| /dev/wd1a / ffs rw,softdep 1 1
| /dev/wd1b none swap sw 0 0
| /dev/wd1e /usr ffs rw,softdep 1 2
| /dev/wd0g /freebsd ffs rw,softdep 1 2
| /kern /kern kernfs rw
| /dev/cd0a /cdrom cd9660 ro,noauto 0 0
| /dev/cd1a /graveur cd9660 ro,noauto 0 0
| /dev/wd1b /tmp mfs rw,-s=40000 0 0
\-----------------
Until today (and a full rebuild of my system), it used to be
working. Now, when the system attempts to mount /tmp, i get the
following message:
/-----------------
| mount_mfs: /dev/wd1b: open for read: Operation not supported by device
\-----------------
And /tmp is not mounted:
/-----------------
| # mount -v
| /dev/wd1a on / type ffs \
| (local, soft dependencies, writes: sync 832 async 3186)
| /dev/wd1e on /usr type ffs \
| (local, soft dependencies, writes: sync 2184 async 2630)
| /dev/wd0g on /freebsd type ffs \
| (local, soft dependencies, writes: sync 2 async 0)
| kernfs on /kern type kernfs (local, writes: sync 0 async 0)
\-----------------
This problem doesn't seem related to my new kernel as i get the same
with an older kernel. (and, yes, i've the mfs support in my kern conf
file ;-)
The swap partition is mounted at boot:
/-----------------
| # swapctl -l
| Device 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Priority
| /dev/wd1b 1049832 0 1049832 0% 0
\-----------------
After the rebuild of my system, i've done a "MAKEDEV all" as the
MAKEDEV file was updated.
/-----------------
| # ls -l /dev/wd1*
| brw-r----- 1 root operator 0, 8 Nov 20 22:19 /dev/wd1a

If someone has some clues, they're welcome.
