Technically, you probably want a CardBus NIC. (Doesn't the A21 have a
slot for a mini PCI Ethernet though? My T20 has such a slot -- I've
got an ex card in it.)

Anyway, GENERIC for -current (not 1.5!) claims these are supported:

# CardBus network cards
#ex*	at cardbus? dev ? function ?	# 3Com 3C575TX
#fxp*	at cardbus? dev ? function ?	# Intel i8255x
#rtk*	at cardbus? dev ? function ?	# Realtek 8129/8139
#tlp*	at cardbus? dev ? function ?	# DECchip 21143

The web site claims:

    *  Network interfaces
          * 3Com 3c575 10/100 Ethernet cards (ex)
          * Intel i82557 based 10/100 Ethernet cards (fxp)
          * RealTek RTL8139 based 10/100 Ethernet cards (rtk)
          * Digital 21143 based 10/100 Ethernet cards (tlp)
          * Xircom X3201-3 based 10/100 Ethernet cards (tlp)
          * ADMtek AN983 and AN985 based 10/100 Ethernet cards,
            including Planex, Corega, I/O Data, AboCom, and ACCTON
            cards (tlp)

If you have a mini PCI slot for that machine, I'd suggest doing that
instead.

Good luck!
