Okay...but what if, like when I am experimenting, I have
both the PPP client and the server side-by-side on the
same bench and with the Ethernet also up and working?

How is it that the IP to the modem and the IP to the
Ethernet card, being the same, and the destination
machine being the same, that there will be no conflict,
confusion, or other problems?

I had read that a PPP server with separate modems on
separate tty's must have separate IP addrs. I had
presumed (erroneously?) that this condition extended to
Ethernet addresses also.

I would like to understand this. Please explain.

Thanks,

Gan
