On a vaguely related (?) note - what does this signify:

  /netbsd: ppp_deflate0: exceeded mru (1508 > 1504)

This is for ppp between two NetBSD-current/i386 kernels down a serial cable.
(Until I get the realtek pci prob sorted :) )
