Well, "twm" is a very old X11 window manager that is part of the X11
distribution. There were quite a few variations on twm and one of them
was by a person named "Claude" (sp?). Thus Claude's TWM. The differences 
between ctwm and vtwm was that vtwm gave you a virtual screen much
larger than your screen and you could flip back and forth between
views of it. In ctwm you have different "workspaces" that are sorta
like different screens. Oh, and ctwm looks prettier and allows for
fancier effects onscreen.
