Hi!
I have set up a netbsd/i386 1.5X box as my internet router with
isdn-dialup using the isdn-stuff in -current.
Everything works o.k. except that the first client requesting a
network connection (e.g. my mail client connecting to a pop account)
doesn't get through. The box builds up the connection and all
following requests (e.g. fetching mail by hand or using http) get
through. As I fetch my mail automatically every 20 minutes this is
pretty useless to me, as I always have to fetch my mail by hand right
now.
Lin*x seems to have exactly the same problem so I think this should be
widely known. But my searches with google et. al. didn't show anything
related.
Is there any solution/workaround to this problem and is the reason for
this behavior known (un*x specific routin algorithm or sth. like
that)?
Poor sidenote: Netbsd builds up the connection much faster than the
Win2K box which did it before, but Win2K did'nt drop the first
connection.
Thanks for your help,
Alex
