There may be various reasons why the gcc maintainers didn't include
our patches:

	1.) we never supplied them a NetBSD specific patch
	2.) the supplied patches don't match THEIR standards
	3.) they don't care

I would tend to believe it is due to point 1 since gcc never
implemented any changes that occured after NetBSD-i386 switched to
ELF, but then I might be wrong. Maybe someone in the know could
enligten us on this issue. In any case, this dilema has prevented me
from porting the latest version of GNAT (ADA) to NetBSD as it depends
on GCC-3.0 

I know that my statement will put me in the firing line, however, I
think it is justifyable to bring this up here as the gcc package is in
my opinion the single most important tool in any of the free unix OS's.
