Hi.

Some basic dump questions.

1. Is the default blocksize of 1024 Bytes taken from the
environment variable BLOCKSIZE, defined in ~/.tcshrc (or whatever
   shell is used)?

2. While making a backup to a 1 GB JAZ (it could also be some other
partition, doesn't matter ...), dump requests a volume change after
39.260.160 Bytes. For some reason, it only writes 3.834 Blocks. Why
   is this?

I can overwrite this behaviour with the -B option, but I would first
like to know where the default value for the volume change comes from.

The command used is:

    # dump -0f /mnt/jaz/dump/rsd1d

TIA
