Okay, but you have to modify ~/.ssh/config on the client host and
/etc/sshd.conf on the server to enable X11Forwarding - by default it's
disabled.

Absolutely, but in this particular case, I'm not really concerned with
security because it's on a LAN: If it's compromised, I'm lost anyway. So
encryption seems just a waste of CPU in this case.
