Subject: Disk estimate....

Hello,

An estimate would be much appreciated. I've installed NetBSD on both my
laptop and desktop. The base system was a snap! However, adding packages
has been a pain... Trying to install either kde or gnome from binaries was a
failure. So, I decided to install gnome from source (NetBSD-current). Using
a 1.7 GB disk the install ran out of space (wd1a = 128 MB, wd1b = 128 MB, wd1e
= the rest, RAM = 160 MB). How large of a disk is needed to install such a
system? With some effort and by deleting the distfiles, the users-guide,
evolution, pan, and xchat it finally went on, but with less than 10 MB free
in wd1e. Gnome still has some problems... All suggestions welcome both on
disk space required and how to get a fully functional system.

Thanks,

Dave
