Hello

I was not able to communicate with my external modem (a Fujitsu/Siemens
56k V.90) on NetBSD 1.5. After creating

 #/etc/uucp/ports
 type modem
 port modem
 device /dev/tty01
 speed 115200

I use `cu -p modem' to talk to it and get a

 CONNECTED

but after sending AT or ATZ I never get an OK. The following things I
could rule out

- Hardware failure. The modem works on Solaris and OpenBSD. The port
works; I set up X and have the mouse running on it. I have the CS
(clear to send) and the TR (terminal ready) LEDs of the modem alight.
- Settings in /etc/uucp/ports. I tried both ports and different speeds.
- `cu' options. I checked different parities, half duplex to see if the
AT/ATZ is sent out (which it is) and en/disabled software flow control
  with --nostop
- Cable wiring. I got me a breakout box and tried different pin wiring
schemes that I found on the net but none worked for me.

Are there additional things I could check to locate my problem, I fear
I'm running out of ideas... ;)

Any help is greatly appreciated!
