Some experiments proved it was actually the cable problem after
all. The contact was not perfect when in some proper position,
leading to the error message. If I'd arrange the cable other way, it'd
worked :) So it was only coencidence that it started to work after
I tried to boot Slackware, I probably moved cable incidentaly.
