Hi,

I get this error while trying to start X:
------------------------------------------
Script started on Sun Jan 21 02:28:09 2001
[rakhesh@NetBSD<02:28>](rakhesh)$ X

<snip>

Fatal server error:
xf86OpenConsole: Server must be running with root permissions
You should be using Xwrapper to start the server or xdm.
We strongly advise against making the server SUID root!

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages
------------------------------------------

I then tried linking X to Xwrapper instead of XF86_SVGA, but then when I
type `X`, nothing happens. I don't get any messages or any screen etc ...
and I have to press Ctrl-C to get back to the prompt.

Here are the permissions of the relevant X* files. I haven't done
anything -- everything is as per the default installation:

lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel        9 Jan 21 02:27 /usr/X11R6/bin/X@ -> XF86_SVGA
-r-xr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  3061464 Nov 17 15:52 /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_SVGA*
-r-xr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  1793816 Nov 17 15:52 /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_VGA16*
-r-xr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  1614240 Nov 17 15:52 /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_W32*
-r-s--x--x  1 root  wheel     5620 Nov 17 15:52 /usr/X11R6/bin/Xwrapper*

Hope somebody could help.

TIA.

Regards.
