Bingo.

Just for the other folks that have a Sony VAIO 505tx and want to read
CF cards, ripping out cardbus support will definitely do the trick.

So far I took the easy tack ripped out all cardbus/cardslot/cbb, but
hopefully I can find a way to just turn off "pcmcia at cardslot" and
keep cardbus cards and pcmcia working.
