Subject: mysqld start at boot time

I'm trying to get mysqld to run at boot time. It starts, but exits
almost right away.

I have tried adding /usr/pkg/share/mysql/mysql.server and
/usr/pkg/bin/safe_mysqld to rc.local with no success.

I have also tried copying each of these files to rc.d but still no go.

Looking at the error log file it seems that if I use mysql.server the
server starts, then there's an error message about the table mysql.host
not being found, then the server quits.

If I use safe_mysqld the log just makes note of mysqld starting and
stopping.

Any ideas?

  Thanks,
   Dave Chapman
