I am attaching the dmesg from my machine.  I am using stock 1.5, and I am
surprised because I've built Perl in 1.5 on at least 6 machines.  This is
the first one to burp.  I built Perl in 1.5_ALPHA2 on a machine with only
32 megs of RAM (I had to stop some services to have enough memory).

I'll take out some of my memory sticks *grunt* and see if I can narrow it
down to a particular piece of hardware.
