Do you mean rip the tracks to wav files then play them with audioplay?
That does work.  Or do you mean play them with cdparanoia?  I tried:

cdparanoia -g /dev/rcd1d 2 /dev/audio0

but just get wierd screeching from the speakers.  Also tried
/dev/sound0.

I can rip tracks with cdparanoia, encode them with bladeenc and play the
resulting mp3 with amp or mpg123.
