Yes. 




Ok, just kidding. You need to hook the drive up and disklabel it. Do
create a partition b that covers the part of the disk you want as your
swap partition (the whole disk?). Change your /etc/fstab to have your
new partition b as the swap partition. Reboot. 

You don't have to pick partition "b", you can actually pick any letter
that falls inside the range allowed for your platform. However, b is
the standard choice, and picking the standard makes accidents less likely
later.
