So long as you have the X libraries, and a few essential programs like
xauth installed, yeah, shouldn't matter.  It _probably_ only needs the
libraries to for sshd to run with X support, but if those other base X
programs were missing when you compiled it, X forwarding was almost
definitely disabled...
