I've been having that same problem whenever I've strayed from the INSTALL
config far enough (maybe so far that the resulting ramdisk _could_ fit on
one disk but still makes two disk images??).  I don't know a solution --
just a fellow commiserate.  I include this mostly because it further
specifies my own troubles in similar emails.
