The VT100 command set is similar to the ANSI set. This includes character
attributes (bold, underline, and blink), cursor control, scrolling
regions, double height lines, double width lines, settable tabs, erasing
parts of the screen (with one control sequence), etc.

The VT220 adds things like: multinational character set, loadable
character set, more function keys, two more keypads (the cursor key
cluster and the Find, InsertHere, ... cluster), non-erasable characters,
insert/delete line, etc.

Note that the right-most keypad on a standard PC has one less key than the
VT200 series terminal: where the PC has a '+' key, the VT has '-' and ','.

Also note that the emulations provided here and there may not implement
all the VT200 series features.
